Transform 25 oral histories, recorded over the 5 weeks of lockdown, into a 5 episode podcast series

“After collecting a whole lot of community oral history recordings during Covid-19 national lockdown in 2020, our team felt excited by the range of fascinating content, and utterly flummoxed as to what to do with it. Enter Connect Content’s Teresa Cowie, who spent an hour listening to us tell her somewhat incoherently what we wanted to achieve, and then went off and created a plan which culminated in a podcasts series reflecting on life in lockdown in Aotearoa 2020. She then got it commissioned for inclusion on RNZs radio and web platforms - bonus!
We’ve had such good feedback on the series, and a lot of interest in how we managed to create such a professional project during a pandemic crisis – and I have to say: ‘it was all Teresa’. With cunning diplomacy Teresa voice-coached this grumpy and reluctant academic so she could narrate the series, worked out the threads which joined 25 human experiences into a coherent story, and created a tone which carried the weight of a difficult time with the right balance of gravitas and humour.”
